TEACHING FACULTY

MICHAELA RISPIN - PRINCIPAL

(Known as Miss Rispin)

Miss Rispin initially trained at the Liz Burville Dance Centre and furthered her training at the London College of Dance. This is where she obtained additional Vocational dance exams in Imperial Ballet, Cecchetti Ballet, RAD Ballet, ISTD Tap, ISTD Modern Theatre & ISTD National, up to & including advanced 2. She qualified as a teacher of dance with a London College of Dance diploma in Imperial Ballet, Cecchetti Ballet, ISTD Tap, ISTD Modern Theatre, ISTD Jazz & ISTD National. She has also gained RSA anatomy (both parts), & history of western dance. She has GCSE & As level dance as well. During her college training Miss Rispin also studied child development, music, singing, drama, body conditioning, choreography, contemporary, historical & Greek dancing. Since leaving college Miss Rispin has obtained her Associate Diploma (both parts), and CDE (certificate in Dance Education) level 4. She has also appeared in various shows & pantomimes, as well as choreographing for various shows & pantomimes.

As well as running the Academy, Miss Rispin works full time at a Boys Secondary School, which has been successful in gaining Specialist Performing Arts Status. She has a dual role as the Performing Arts Administrator & Dance Specialist.

SARAH BAKER - (Known as Miss Baker)

Miss Baker originally trained at The Sallie Lewis Dance School and furthered her training at the Doreen Bird College. This is where she furthered gained vocational dance exams in Imperial Ballet, RAD Ballet, ISTD Tap, ISTD Modern Theatre & ISTD National, up to & including Advanced 2. She qualified as a teacher of dance with her ISTD Associate teaching certificate. Since leaving College Miss Baker has performed in various pantomimes, adverts and musicals. Miss Baker has taught within the Academy for 10 years, leaving for a short time to have her second child. She currently teaches classes on Thursday’s at Fleet Estate. As well as working for the Academy Miss Baker also teaches for other local dancing schools.
